Jha admits that it wasn’t easy coaching Katrina to speak a few lines in Bhojpuri. “It worked, and how. Katrina had the whole of Bihar eating out of her hands. It was so unexpected from someone who has the reputation of barely managing her Hindi,” chuckles Jha.
Prakash Jha hired a private jet to ferry the stars of his forthcoming film. Along with Katrina Kaif, there were actors Arjun Rampal and Manoj Bajpai gracing the event, and as soon as their arrival news spread, a huge crowd gathered outside Jha’s residence as all of them headed straight to Prakash’s place after landing in Bihar.
Grapevine has it that from the time Katrina landed in Patna, she could be seen rehearsing her Bhojpuri lines for the evening.
Talking to the media, Prakash said, “Katrina had no idea of her popularity in Bihar. She has a very deep connect with audiences. She has the kind of image that Hema Malini has. Not one cheap remark, no jostling crowds, no. They now call her ‘Bihar Ki Beti’.”
Reports are even confirmed that the premiere of the film ‘Raajneeti’ will be done in Patna instead of Mumbai. Hope Prakash Jha’s initiatives bear good results, for there has been quite a lull in Katrina’s graph for a while.
