Hrithik Roshan, Barbara Mori: celebrate Kintaro’s Birthday at suburban restaurant

The most talked about couple these days is no doubt Hrithik Roshan and Barbara Mori. Their film ‘Kites’ has made a splash in the skies of tinsel town much before its actual date of release.

However, they are true pals even in real life. Sources reveal that the duo were spotted recently at a suburban restaurant to celebrate the birthday of Kintaro, Barbara’s brother, who is in Mumbai, to try out his luck in the bollywood music arena.

Reportedly, it was roughly about three years back that the younger brother of Barbara was persuaded by Hrithik to pack his bags and come to bollywood, where the actor would try and get him some singing contracts. While in Mumbai, Hrithik helped Kintaro to hunt for a nice home and then began the quest for the bollywood break.

Repots indicate that the film ‘Kites’, where Hrithik and Kintaro’s sister Barbara are starring as the lead, he(Kintaro) was supposed to get his break as a playback singer.

He was given the song ‘Flying Kites’, but, the producer and director were not quite impressed with the rendition. Kintaro was thus advised to perfect his art a little more. Eventually, it was Hrithik who got to sing the romantic number in the film.

Last heard, Hrithik was still looking for some work for the birthday boy in bollywood!

DLF IPL 2010 Night: Shahid Kapoor, Bipasha Basu and A.R Rahman ka JALWA!

Bollywood3000: The closing ceremony of the IPL in the DY Patil stadium in Navi Mumbai was a spectacular treat for thousands who had gathered there, as well as those who watched the amazing glitterati on TV.

Music Maestro A.R.Rahman had the entire stadium roaring aloud with his mind blowing numbers like ‘Vande Mataram’, ‘Jai Ho’, etc. He was dressed in pure white and was on a moving vehicle with dancers performing in a big circle.

The bombshell of bollywood, Bipasha Basu looking out of the world in an all black outfit performed in a special song recorded for the IPL, which was based on the title track from her film ‘Race’, she also gyrated in style on the song track ‘All the Best’. She had a group of dancers moving to the beat with equal gutso.

Shahid Kapoor, the energetic star of bollywood young brigade, made a splash with his movements in tracks like ‘Dhan Te Naan’, and two other popular tracks from on his movies. The star had an entourage of dancers accompanying him and his great energy filled performances simply rocked the atmosphere.

The show had some very scintillating laser light shows, which was a great treat for one and all. To finish off the ceremony, the trophy replica was taken all over the ground and it was with a swinging bat that a ball shaped balloon was hit.

This was the significant moment, when the event was finally closed, and the finals between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings began.

Celina Jaitley: The first ever film festival of queer people on April 22 in Mumbai

Celina Jaitley, the gorgeous bollywood actress who wowed audiences with her comic acting in films like ‘No Entry’ and also loves to promote the gay rights in society, is all set to inaugurate the first ever film festival of queer people on April 22 in Mumbai.

The festival has already received around hundred and ten entries from twenty five countries.  The entries will be adjudged by an eminent jury comprising of persons from the field of media, cinema, culture and other artistic fields of life.

Sources close to organizers say that the Queer or Kashish, as the film festival has been named, will continue from April 22 to 24 at two venues in Mumbai - Alliance Francaise, Marine Lines and PVR in Juhu. The organizers are also not discounting the possibility of an attack from opposing groups and hence have taken measures to defend themselves accordingly.

Celina Jaitley, the gorgeous bollywood babe who has become one of the most vocal supporters of the queer group, will host the event. The festival will also have discussions, photo exhibitions, launches etc.

Celina Jaitley, unlike other celebrities who tend to avoid the Queer (lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and transgender) community, boldly supports in their fight to get their legitimate rights in the society.

Bollywood Stars Shahrukh Khan, Karan Johar, Hrithik, Priyanka in IPL 3 Award Night

The Bollywood King-Shahrukh Khan and his alleged best friend cum brother Karan Johar will come together to host the IPL Awards  night.

Shahrukh’s team Kolkata Knight Riders failed to give good performance in IPL 3, even after consulting astrologers and changing jersey colors. Hopefully this awards show will help the Khan to forget his not so old wounds.

Since Shahrukh is famous for poking fun at even himself which is indeed a rare quality, we are watching with bated breathe if he makes any mention of  the dismal performance of his team at the awards.

Equal rights activist and Bollywood star Celina Jaitley opened India’s biggest Gay film festival in India at Mumbai.

The film festival opened at Mumbai featured all lesbian, gay and transgender movies showcased in India, the festival was called ‘Kashish’.

Commencing from 22nd of April the film festival will showcase around 110 films from around 25 countries at two venues in Mumbai itself.

In her festive excitement she told the press that these movies showcase pure human emotions. And these kind of festivals bring together Directors, writers, activists etc.

Bollywood Top Star Katrina Kaif who has always voiced her support towards fighting for the cause of female infanticide recently inaugurated the opening of the "Little Darlings Programme" - meant for the care of abandoned toddlers.

Katrina Kaif who was the pioneer in having her brands tie-up with charitable causes was present to extend her support for a program that would nurture abandoned babies with all the possible nutritional and health care, directly over see the education and growth of differently-able children and also in the near future start a separate home for those infants who are unlikely to be adopted. Katrina says, "I love kids and hence this is a cause that is very dear to me. I am immensely proud of my mothers work and only hope to be of a greater support."

Shahrukh Khan: May go nude in a public place and dance in ecstasy

All you gals out there who have a secret desire of watching the epitome of romance nude can keep their fingers crossed for the moment. As the word is that SRK may go nude in a public place and dance in ecstasy but only in case his IPL (Indian Premiere League) cricket team Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) lift the trophy.

1. Is it to lift the morale of his team?

Priyanka Chopra Promote her Dad's Music Album 'Haal Mureedan Da Kehna'

Former Miss World Priyanka Chopra's father, Dr. Ashok Chopra, who is a well established surgeon also sings and finds it as an integral part of his life now. Chopra was recently seen promoting his devotional music album Haal Mureedan Da Kehna speaking on which he says, “All shabads are based on Indian classical music and are from the Guru Granth Sahib. These tracks were carefully chosen with classical base and minimal use of instruments to retain the richness of the religious thoughts."

The album contains eight shabads sung by him and composed by Surjeet Singh Parmar. It took him nearly two-and-a half years to compose the shabads which were then recorded in the wee hours of the morning in order “to capture the concentration and tranquility of mind.”

Dr. Ashok Chopra who had been pursuing singing since childhood says, “By profession, I am a surgeon and singing is my hobby. I am singing since childhood and I conducted school prayers for 11 years. I won many singing competitions at school."

He has dedicated this album for the cause of fighting against female foeticide and said that Priyanka was quite supportive in the initiative.

Chopra has also released two albums, Kalame Ala Hazrat and Har Har Shankar prior to this latest release.

Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachan: Celebrate mom’s birthday!

Abhishek Bachchan presently hard shooting in Goa however plans to be back in Mumbai Friday to celebrate the 62nd birthday of his mother. According to sources "For now Abhishek is in Goa. He is shooting for Rohan Sippy's Dum Maaro Dum. But he plans to fly back either tonight or tomorrow for his mother's (Jaya Bachchan) birthday,"

"Abhishek likes to have a good time these occasions with the family and it is mainly likely to be a close affair," sources added.

Veteran actor and Samajwadi Party MP Jaya had fallen ill Tuesday, her husband, superstar Amitabh Bachchan had informed through his blog." Jaya has taken ill… suddenly… and I am with the doctors now investigating the problem. It's never good to see her like this for she rarely gets in such condition," Amitabh Bachchan added." The fever is down and the disease in the stomach that had grounded her yesterday has abated, but the medication and rest shall have to continue for a few more days," Amitabh said.

Katrina Kaif's 'Sonia Gandhi': First Media Event Of Raajneeti in Delhi!

Bollywood Hot Actress Katrina Kaif's 'Sonia Gandhi' look in Raajneeti has allegedly not gone down well in the corridors of power in Delhi.

In a shocking incident of what seems a denial of the basic right to the freedom of expression, on Saturday, the cast and director of Raajneeti were stopped from holding their first media event in Delhi at public places.

Denied!
While admitting that his event had to be shifted to a suburban hotel in Delhi at the last minute, Prakash Jha is reluctant to divulge details. According to a member of the crew, the director had sought permission to hold his first major media event at one of Delhi's heritage spots.

Says the source, "Jha wanted to hold the event either at India Gate or Red Fort in Delhi. So, when the consent didn't come, Jha was in a dilemma. Since the event required the co-coordinated dates of the vast cast, busy stars like Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Nana Patekar, Arjun Rampal and Manoj Bajpai (Ajay Devgn is away in Dubai) he panicked. Attempts to get other landmarks in Delhi for the event were also aborted. It was then that Jha smelt a rat. A discreet enquiry revealed that there was indeed a ban on Raajneeti events in public places."

Jha admits there was indeed a problem in getting a prominent public venue for his event. "We wanted a large open-air venue. We were denied permission at several places including the Purana Quila (Old Fort), where shootings are regularly allowed. So I really couldn't see the any logic or rationale."

No resemblance?
The event finally had to be shuttled indoors into the Galaxy Hotel in Gurgaon outside Delhi at the last minute. When asked if the Sonia factor in Katrina's looks had anything to do with the crisis, Jha gets evasive, "I really don't want to comment on this. I again want to repeat that Katrina's character has nothing to do with Soniaji.

In fact, I want to show her the film to avoid any misunderstanding such as the one we faced on Saturday."
How does he explain the uncanny resemblance Kat and Mrs Gandhi share? Even the fabric selected for her saris is the one favoured by the Congress chief .

Says Prakash, "Like I said let Soniaji watch the film. She'll know the truth. I hope it happens soon."
Hopefully it will happen before the next public event for Raajneeti in Delhi.

Bollywood Actress Celina Jaitely: Protest against Bombay Gymkhana !

Bollywood actress Celine Jaitely has launched a Twitter campaign against 135-years-old Elite club Bombay Gymkhana. The club reportedly threw out a celeb transgender activist Laxmi Tripathi on Friday.

“Boycott Bombay Gymkhana in name of HUMAN RIGHTS n equality. Preserve democracy,” read the Twitter message posted by Celina in a protest against clubs high handed attitude.

She has also urged people to join the campaign, “BOYCOTT BOMBAY GYM” for discriminating against an individual.

The actress, well-known for supporting the cause of gays and transgender alike, has supported their cause in the past too.

What transpired at Gymkhana?
The whole incident transpired on Friday evening when celeb transgender Laxmi Narayan Tripathi, who also work with United Nations on human rights issues, went to Bombay Gymkhana as a guest at a function there.

According to Laxmi, she entered the club premises without any complications but an hour later club CEO Brig (Retd.) R K Bose marched into the party and “told the host (Ajay Hattangadi) that I was not welcome at the Bombay Gymkhana," she said.

This declaration started an argument and club official told the host that his club membership will be revoked if Laxmi stayed at the function.

Laxmi said that this is the first incident where she was discriminated because of her sexuality and she is considering lodging a complaint against the club officials in the police station for their biased attitude.

People angry with Gymkhana’s biased attitude
Several members of the club who witnessed the whole incident unfold said that they are shocked at clubs action.

“It is a disgrace. Everybody has biases, and that is fine with me. But the Bombay Gymkhana has violated the legal rights of an individual. If the law says that it recognises the third sex, Bombay Gymkhana has no right to do this. Ajay Hattangadi, the host, had tears in his eyes. This is the level of humiliation caused,” said Srila Chatterjee, a member of the club for over 20 years.

However, Deputy CEO of the club Col A K Bhargava said, “Whether or not the club wishes to allow a patron entry is a personal choice.”

Katrina Kaif found too cold, Arjun Rampal help to keep Warm her!

Katrina Kaif received a warm welcome at a media meet to promote her upcoming “Raajneeti” here Saturday evening, but the cold blast from the air conditioner had her shivering, until co-actor Arjun Rampal gallantly took off his coat and offered it to her.

Dressed in a short, sleeveless, pink dress, Katrina found it too cold at the venue.

“It’s way too cold here. It’s so cold!” Katrina was seen whispering to Ranbir Kapoor and Arjun Rampal on the stage.

While Ranbir chose to nod his head, Arjun displayed chivalry by taking off his black overcoat and handed it to Katrina. She immediately grabbed it and placed it on her legs, which were hidden behind a table on the stage.

Moments later, actor Nana Patekar too was seen trying to get the temperature in control by requesting hotel officials to do the needful.

“Raajneeti” is a dark political drama and features Manoj Bajpai, Ajay Devgn, Naseeruddin Shah, apart from Nana, Arjun, Ranbir and Katrina, who plays the role of a politician. The movie has been directed by Prakash Jha, known for his realistic films like “Mrityudand”, “Gangaajal” and “Apharan”, and is slated for release in June.

Bipasha Basu's tantrums are growing quite frequent. Most recently, she stomped out of a dealers' convention (organised by a brand she endorses) in Ahmedabad on Sunday night, after committing to it.

Reveals a source present at the event, "Bipasha was to make an appearance and the organisers were to pay her attendance fees immediately after. She would be expected to attend, sit in for an hour, meet contest winners, give out prizes on stage, do some photo-ops and leave. The actress came in more than an hour late. Nobody knows why."

Quick exit
That wasn't all. The source adds that because Bipasha had come in late, she could only meet half the contest winners. The event had started without her, She refused to wait for an hour saying she was in a hurry and had to leave. The event managers and the brand folk refused. The actress got up, almost rudely ticking them off and stomped out to her car. In fact, she was so upset that she even left her managers behind before anyone could even react!"

She soon had a change of heart. Adds the source, "After driving halfway, Bips called the organisers and told them that she wanted to come back but by that time everyone had had enough of her moody, cranky behaviour. They politely told her that they didn't need her. They had spoken to Malaika Arora Khan who was already present there (she was performing at the event) and she had agreed to step into Bipasha's shoes. In fact, the organisers are so livid with Ms Basu that they have even held her appearance payment back. You can't come to an event, insult people and walk away!"

A nightmare
A source close to Bipasha says, "It was a logistical nightmare. There was a long waiting period between the two activities she was supposed to do. The event was within a certain timeline and it was one of those rare occasions where everything didn't fall in place. She wasn't late for the event nor was the event delayed because of her."

The source insists that it wasn't anybody's fault - not the organisers, nor Bipasha's nor the brand she endorses. "It's unfortunate that this happened and the onus is always on the artist to spearhead the course of events which follow after that. Bips was the artist involved so unfortunately, the onus comes to her. If everyone had kept their cool, this unfortunate incident wouldn't have taken place."

Why did she leave her managers stranded at the event? "Bipasha took one of her managers as she normally does. But most people would think she left the whole team behind, which is not true."

DLF IPL 2010: IPL Team's present with a Name of a Bollywood Films

Tonight the 23rd match got over and the recent standings have a lot to say about all the teams. Mumbai Indians  and Royal Challengers Bangalore are arguably the best team till now as Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Daredevils are trying to catch them.

3. Deccan Chargers (Sarfarosh): The team is packed with gutsy players that include the likes of Captain Gilchrist, Symonds and Gibbs, Rohit Sharma, Chaminda Vass and RP Singh. Though their boldness sometimes have backfired but still the holders are a force to reckon with coz “Sarfaroshi ki tammana ab hamare dil mein hain..dekh na hai zor kitna baazu-e-qaatil mein hai”.

4. Chennai Super Kings (Baazigar): Dhoni and Co. is definitely the Baazigar

team of IPL. They might be losing their crucial encounters now but don’t

IPL 2010: Top 5 failure Players of IPL after 21 matches!

With the first 21 matches down in IPL-III, we pull down a list of 5 players who failed to rise up to the expectation. Here are the top 5 failures of IPL after 21 matches:

1. Yuvraj Singh: His team has lost 5 matches out of the 4 they played till now and one man who could have made the difference has failed to rise up to the occasion. He is dominating the headlines with his off-the field comments and his new girlfriend, I just hope that he gets it right in the field the next time he comes out to bat and doesn’t throw his wicket like he did in the previous encounters.

2)     Sourav Ganguly: He might have done his bits with his captaincy in the first

two matches against Deccan and Bangalore but the last three matches have

been a complete disaster for him. His test match like batting has come under

severe criticisms and he is also blamed for his team failure. It’s high time for

him to perform or perish.

3. Tilekratne Dilshan: The power performer for the Daredevils last year hasn’t been able to strike chords properly this year. He is still left to score big runs in IPL-III and I hope he does it soon.

4)     Sanath Jayasuriya: His team Mumbai Indians is doing a brilliant job but

sadly he is out of form and also of the playing XI. He has done a decent job

with bowling but in t20 you need someone to score runs up the order and

Shikhar Dhawan is doing a great job at this point of time.

5.   Mohd. Kaif: The new Kings XI recruit hasn’t scored enough for his team

down the order and now time will come when he will be replace by someone else. I am expecting the travesty to happen in the very next match. So god save him.
