Shahid Kapoor is going to pay homage to Michael Jackson in a 10-minute act. He’ll be shaking his legs to ‘This Is It’. Shahid says ideally he would have loved to practise for at least a fortnight for his performance but he’s tried to come up with best steps in just a few days of rehearsal.

As far as my industry is concerned, no. However, the hike in TDS exemption and the subsequent increase in disposable incomes will only bring relief to the common man and the growing working classes in India.

As directors and filmmakers, we are always looking for ways to bring down production costs. However, there is nothing in the Budget to aid this. Also, I believe that a service tax has been levied on assigning the copyrights of the film, music or any other IPR, which will be an added expense.

How has the Budget affected you personally?

Any Budget should look at overall growth of the country. In that respect, this year's Budget is extremely positive and optimistic. Overall, it's been an impactful Budget, one that looks at growth of the nation.

Aishwarya Rai Plans Move To London To Escape Paparazzi

Mind-bogglingly beautiful actress Aishwarya Rai is considering a move to London in a final bid to escape the attentions of the sordid members of the delinquent media and the Mumbai paparazzi.

Speculation from The Mumbai Mirror as to whether or not Aishwarya is pregnant has finally driven her patient husband into fits of uncontrolled anger.

Shahrukh has big dreams on Twitter

Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan has made a wish. He wants to be the most popular Indian on micro-blogging site Twitter and overtake Minister of State for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor.

Shahrukh who had taken to Twitter ahead of the release of his movie My Name Is Khan has close to 170000 followers compared to that of Tharoor who has more than 660000 followers and has landed in many controversies due to his tweets.

Speaking at NDTV Indian of the Year Awards, Shahrukh said "In few months I am going to overtake Shahi Tharoor (on twitter).

'Shahrukh Khan to host 'Pakistani' Filmfare awards on Saturday'

A Hindi film based award show in theory, Filmfare is apparently looking to honor the 26/11 NSG guards and rest of Pakistan-loving Indian armed forces this year by having Shahrukh 'Pakistan' Khan as its host.

Wonder if Manoj Kumar is doing a marshalla to this one. That's not all. Accompanying Shahrukh Khan supposedly would be the 'Pakistani terrorist' hero of Kurbaan, saif ali khan. Are you ready for some jihad or what?

Folks, get ready for some of this bonanza this saturday as what might as well be known as the 'Pakistani' Filmfare awards from now on look to be hosted in your neighborhood in Mumbai once more by none other than 'Pakistan's' biggest supporter, Janaab e ali Shahrukh Khan, coming recently off his epic Dulha Mil Gaya and My Name Is Khan but nonetheless with support of the wonderful 'Pak' fraternity that is film industry there in Mumbai.

Looking forward to more of that Islamic humor eh? People say Pakistan doesn't have a film industry. That's not true. Because when you got Bollywood, do you really need a Pakistani film industry? You've got the entire enchalada right there. Does ISI really need to do propoganda when you got Karan Johar, to make movies like My Name is Khan and Qurbaan? And here's the best part, your tax rupees will be used in part to fund and subsidize the security for all this.

What a coincidence that somehow this guy (Shahrukh Khan) or some other Khan often finds himself hosting the award ceremonies that they call Bollywood film awards in India? A guy like Shekhar Suman who *should* be hosting these awards, who's probably wittier than Shahrukh Khan (and had a 6 pack too to boot at age 47) is nowhere to be seen.

Or a Madhavan or a Nagarjun if you wanna be national and go south to find a decent host. Or if you think none of the existing ones fit, how about new faces altogether. And if they wanted to harp about being secular, how about a dalit host for supposedly an industry that is supposed to be all about inclusiveness? But no, year after year after year, you'll see Khan show up for no reason. What kind of secular, open network is this? Exactly. This chump (Shahrukh Khan) was even awarded actor award for a movie which released not even last year but 2 years ago in 2008 at a recent producers guild award. Can't make it up.

What you're looking at at these awards is an Islamist/Pakistani tamasha unfolding in name of bollywood award stage acts. Where they may have 'popular' awards for movies like Jodha Akbar or Qurbaan and not many for a Border or a Gadar, which was twice the popular blockbuster a Jodha Akbar and Qurbaan combined were. So you never know that apart from hosting, Khan maybe getting a filmfare award for this my name is khan already. Actually don't put it past them to give him a popular nomination for Dulha Mil Gaya also.

It's a different matter that in the past Filmfare awards themselves hosted by Khan have gotten owned and beaten thumpingly in TRPs/TV ratings by awards NOT hosted by Khan.

Maybe it will get good ratings in Islamabad. So apart from Shahrukh Khan, soon Pervez Musharraf could do the opening dialogue at Filmfare and the ISI chief could do the closing one.

And hey, may be we could get a representative from Al Qaeda while we are at it.

And since these shows have tendency to make up award categories at random anyway, how about a best Award in the role of a Islamic terrorist? Qurbaan lives on! "And to introduce our next award category....please welcome....Ajmaaal Qasaaab!"

Just keep an eye on the flag wherever these Bollywood people are assembled. Make sure it's the tricolor one with the Saffron on top and Maurya Chakra on it. Because with these people, you never know. One day, they might just replace it on you with the mughalai flag without notice and next thing you know, there you are, shaking your behinds to the Pakistan national anthem in downtown Mumbai.

Who is to shake My Name is Khan?

To shake the position of My Name Is Khan, which is still minting box-office moolah, the releases this Friday have to be really exceptional to make its way to the audience’s heart.

The magic of 3 Idiots can’t be ignored either; its long run at the box-office just endorses the fact that audience won’t mind shelling out for good films, irrespective of it being an old release.

This gives a tough competition to new weekly releases as happened with Toh Baat Pakki and Click that failed to leave a mark on cine-goers mind, although Click has done fairly well, but Tabu’s matrimonial drama fell flat like a house of cards.

With a mild last week, Bollywood boomerangs this Friday to a clash of titans- Farhan Akhtar’s Karthik Calling Karthik pitched against Amitabh Bachchan and Sir Ben Kingsley’s Teen Patti and to a certain extent Salman Khan’s Prem Kaa Game, which might edge out the urbane Teen Patti and Karthik Calling Karthik in small centers.

Starting with Karthik Calling Karthik, the immense promotion by Farhan Akhtar and Deepika Padukone has brought Karthik Calling Karthik in a comfortable position. The music has already created waves, especially ‘Uff Teri Ada’. Interesting title and excellent star cast is the unique selling point of this film. Everything seems to be in place Karthik Calling Karthik. Now the question remains, will critics and audience approve the content? It’s going to be a litmus test for Vijay Lalwani who is stepping into Bollywood with Karthik Calling Karthik.

Next is Prem Kaa Game, a film that rides purely on Salman Khan’s name, as rest of the star cast is barely enough to pull a critic, leave alone audience to theater. Arbaaz Khan, Tara Sharma, Madhuri Bhattacharya, Malaika Arora are not enough to get the cine-goers glued to their seats. Bad promotion, in fact no promotion, can be disastrous for the fate of this movie. Nonetheless, if passed by critics it can get some audience here and there and word of mouth might pull off this film from going turkey.

Amitabh Bachchan, Ben Kingsley and R. Madhavan, what else do one need to bring the audience inside a cinema hall? Although, the movie seems to be loosely based on Hollywood venture 21 still it has a great scope of doing well at box-office. Promos look promising, though the movie has not been promoted as well as Karthik Calling Karthik. Amazing star cast, lavish look and promising storyline can work in favor of Teen Patti.

Aamir Khan wants to watch Aaptha Rakshaka

Comedian Komal Kumar, who has played comic role alongside late Dr. Vishnuvardhan in the movie Aaptha Rakshaka, has said that several stars are eager to watch the film and Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan is one among them. The actor is very happy with the response he’s been receiving for his role.

Talking to the Bangalore Times, Komal says that Aaptha Rakshaka is a blockbuster in Sandalwood.

The film has collected rupees three crores in the first week. According to him, this kind of success was seen many years ago. "It’s a big milestone in the Kannada film industry,” says Komal. Meanwhile, he does not forget to say, “I miss Vishnu sir."

However, Komal had made the headlines after he opted out of director Guruprasad's upcoming movie Director's Special. Recently, he has completed shooting for his forthcoming movie Appu Pappu. Aishwarya decides to boycott award function over false reports

According to latest tabloids reports, Bachchan khandan’s actress bahu Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan has decided to boycott award functions sponsored by the mother company of the same tabloid newspaper that published reports of her suffering from stomach tuberculosis.

With this giant step, Ash has made her intentions crystal clear that she’s in no mood to adopt forget and forgive policy especially where newspaper Mumbai Mirror is in question.

At the forthcoming award function Ash was scheduled to perform, for which the actress has already been paid around Rs 85 lakh. Ash seldom performs at functions after marriage and had agreed to the arrangement after much cajoling.

But one article from Mumbai Mirror changed everything and now the actress decided to throw away the lucrative deal.

Ever since the tabloid newspaper reported about Ash’s health issues and her failed attempts at getting pregnant, her father-in-law Big B and dotting husband Abhishek came out to support her.

The father-son duo thrashed the newspaper for their irresponsible journalism ethics and also rubbished the reports. They also demanded a proper apology from the newspaper. Abhishek even warned the tabloids from writing anything derogatory about Bachchan family women in future.

After the backlash, the Mumbai Mirror did publish an apology. Reportedly, Bachchan clan has decided to stand by their charming bahu and will not be attending the function as well unless the tabloid properly apologizes.

Heard this?? Katrina Kaif, the sexy bombshell of bollywood who successfully gave several hit flicks opposite Akshay Kumar like ‘Singh Is King’, ‘Welcome’, etc, was ousted from Sajid Khan’s upcoming ‘Housefull’ due to ganging up of three bollywood babes-Lara Dutta, Jia Khan and Deepika Padukone.

Considering the superb working chemistry with Akshay Kumar, producer Sajid Nadiadwala and director Sajid Khan had decided to rope in Katrina for an item number based on Amitabh Bachchan’s hit song from ‘Laawaris’. But as soon as Lara Dutta, Jia Khan and Deepika Padukone heard of Katrina’s inclusion in the film, they opposed it.

They feared that once Kat comes in, the entire focus will shift to her (as was the case with Lara Dutta in Akki starrer ‘Blue’, Kat had stolen the limelight) and they would be reduced to mere second class citizens in matter of promotion and other things.

 

Besides Lara Dutta, even Deepika Padukone was dead against Katrina Kaif due to Ranbir Kapoor factor and the makers had no other choice but to settle with newbie Jacqueline Fernandez for the item number.

Though Katrina Kaif denies it but Deepika Padukone still thinks that it was Ranbir Kapoor’s involvement with Kat during the making of Rajkumar Santoshi’s ‘Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani’ that caused their break up. She has still not forgiven or forgotten the episode and does not want to be associated with Kat in any way.

‘Housefull’ stars Akshay Kumar in the lead while three heroines –super fit Lara Dutta, sexy siren Jia Khan and gorgeous Deepika Padukone play his love interest. Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan created quite a stir at the very outset of his career with an explicit sex scene in Maya Memsaab. It was way back in early 1990s. Interestingly, this very actor has now promised not to kiss his co-stars in films.

Actors from Hrithik Roshan to Akshay Kumar to Abhay Deol to Emraan Hashmi have kissed on the screen but Shahrukh is not in the mood to do so. He said that he doesn't kiss his heroines on screen because he feels shy.

He is very protective about her daughter Amrita, who he treats like a younger sister. He even took the responsibility of finding a suitable groom for her. Salman finally zeroed on a dulha, and the wedding will happen on an auspicious day this summer.

According to some press photographers Claudia ciesla walked up to Salman Khan and kissed him. The entire act was a publicity stunt for the media cameras to boost Claudia's falling TRPs as she has been unemployed and out of work after Big Boss.

Apparently Claudia made all the right noises and played to the gallery to attract maximum media attention. She made the most of Salman Khan's presence at the event. Wonder what Salman Khan has to say about such publicity stunts.

According to a press release issued by her Claudia Ciesla of Bigg Boss fame met Bollywood superstar Salman Khan at the Being Human event auction at Trident BKC held in association with a sports management company and TI Cycles to launch India's first ever international cycling event, Mumbai Cyclothon - Tour De Mumbai held at Bandra Reclamation on Sunday, 21st February, 2010.

We wonder what was Claudia doing at this event. Was it for charity or was she promoting herself by linking herself to Salman Khan?

Her press release reads, Claudia, who is just back from Germany went up to Salman Khan and congratulating him and expressing her support in the noble cause that the superstar has been endorsing.

Claudia met Salman for the first time since media reports that linked her to the superstar that surfaced last year.

However, the generous Bade Dilwala superstar displayed his class and his 'bigheartedness' while greeting the German-born actress and also chatting up with her at the Trident BKC event.

Claudia bid farewell to the superstar by giving him a peck on his left cheek that had the superstar blushing away to glory. And Claudia went away gushing with joy at being reunited with her good old friend. Well great PR Claudia, keep it up.

Deepika Padukone, Farhan Akhtar: Opposites attract in Karthik Calling Karthik!

The film ‘karthik calling Karthik’ has an interesting story to tell which is all about a simple guy who is too much of an introvert. According to sources Farhan Akhtar plays the role of Karthik who is the simple guy and has never seen success in life due to his reserved nature.

Deepika plays a modern gal who is just the opposite with an out to out modern outspoken personality who has all the qualities of a young confident smart and out going girl who does as she pleases according to her own whims and fancies.

The look of the girl called Shonali played by Deepika is of a hep girl with short hair styled in the most modern cuts. Thusthe film will see Deepika in short tresses as she had her long locks cut due to the demands of her role.

Farhan as Karthik has been a very convincing character and as one call from Karthik again to Karthik as the title of the film suggests changes the guys life completely as he becomes more confident and is brave enough to go up to the girl he likes and tell her about his inner most feelings. His love interest inthe film is played by Deepika and she is the one who holds the reins as her character is a very interesting one.

As the story unfolds every bit of it becomes more intriguing as it signifies the importance of one loving ones own self and it has an element of mystery to it thereby leading the audiences to believe that something strange might happen in the end. Shahrukh Khan or Aamir Khan: The Saga of competition!

After having heard it innumerable times that the Khan war has finally ended the two are almost at the opposite ends of each other after the battle of their films ‘My Name Is Khan’ and ‘3 Idiots’ has finally shown results.

According to reports ‘My Name Is Khan’ has seen a considerable drop in ticket sales in it’s 2nd week  which was about a 65% to 70% less than in the opening week.

The film ‘3 Idiots’ managed to keep going strong for a long time. There was a very big hype created due to the Shahrukh Khan remark on the inclusion of the Pakistani Players in the IPL and a corresponding release of SRK’S film ‘My Name Is Khan’ created a frenzy all over due to which the opening sale of tickets was mind blowing for the film and thus there were reports that it would beat the Aamir Khan starer ‘3 Idiots’ in no time.

But just into its second week and the film ‘MNIK’ has slumped down in sales proving that the success of Aamir over SRK in 2010 is also established. The whole saga of competition has been carried forward from 2009 when Shahrukh’s film ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ had released and was on top of the charts but as Aamir’s film ‘Ghajini’ released all box office records were broken and it became the supreme hit of the year leaving SRK’S film far behind.

Now with recent reports on the Aamir Khan film running far ahead of the Shahrukh Khan film it is once again making Aamir the Mr. Perfectionist of bollywood. The collections of ‘MNIK’ in the 2nd week are Rs 150 crores in contrast to the collections ofthe film ‘3 Idiots’ which was approximately Rs 240 crores in a ten day period.

Having said all about the films, the fact still remains that SRK has ruled the hearts of millions of his fans the world over and this may be a temporary phase in the actor’s life and sunnier days will surely come soon. As for Mr. perfectionist AamirKhan it will suffice to say that he has surely proved that he has what it takes to be a successful star and on top of the slot amongst the best of the best. Aishwarya Rai boycotts award function

Aishwarya Rai is an angry young lady nowadays. And she isn’t in the mood to forget or forgive the tabloid that recently published a report of her having pregnancy problems because of stomach tuberculosis.

Now, the Bachchan bahu rani has boycott an award ceremony because the function is associated with the mother company of that same tabloid.

Main nahi nachhongi no matter how strong the lure of lucre. That’s the message Ash seems to be sending.

According to media reports, Ash has backed out of performing at the award function for which she was offered a staggering Rs 85 lakhs. This was the only event for which she had agreed to perform this year.

Ash is demanding an apology from the tabloid and her parivar is with her, supporting this decision. She has even mailed the tabloid about the slanderous report and asked for an apology but none has come from the tabloid till now.

Katrina Kaif rejects Ranbir for Hrithik

It was reported that Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani pair Katrina Kaif and Ranbir Kapoor would act together again in a film by Imtiaz Ali. But the latest we hear is that Katrina has opted out of the film in order to act with Hrithik Roshan.

It's said that Katrina got the role in Imtiaz's new film because of Ranbir but she dumped it after getting a plumber role. She just could not refuse when Luck By Chance director Zoya Akhtar came up with a role opposite Hrithik.

But is Katrina staking her friendship with Ranbir by rejecting his film?

Kareena and Saif go skiing in Switzerland

Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor recently returned from their European holiday. One of the stops was Switzerland, where the couple took a crash course in skiing to prepare themselves for their role in Saif's forthcoming production, Agent Vinod.

Agent Vinod will be shot all over Europe, the Swiss Alps included. A spy thriller, it will have lot of James Bond-esque action scenes. One is a high-end ski chase featuring the couple. While Saif is fairly familiar with skiing (he's at the beginners level), this kind of stylised action requires skiing requires sufficient training.

During their five-day stay in Switzerland, Saif and Bebo took lessons from a ski instructor. A source reveals, "They would take the classes every morning. Kareena, being a novice, took some falls but Saif picked up the ropes rather quickly. He was quite serious and even attempted some of the highest peaks that few beginners would dare to."

Saif confirms that Kareena and he took a special course in skiing in Switzerland for Agent Vinod. "It was for Kareena to learn some skiing as well."

My Name Is Khan looses to 3 Idiots

This is a a piece of news which will hurt the fans of Shahrukh Khan. King Khan has lost it out to the perfectionist Aamir Khan once again. Shahrukh's My Name Is Khan which had got a bombastic opening in it's first week has lost grip over the Box Office in it's second week and seems to be no match for Aamir's 3 Idiots. My Name Is Khan has seen a steep fall in the second week with occupancy falling as much as 60% to 80%.

The movie had started off well thanks to the controversy created by the Shiv Sena over Shahrukh's support to the Pakistani players in the IPL. Fox Star India which is distributing the movie was excited after the movie had a better start than 3 Idiots. But My Name Is Khan seems to have lost the momentum having grossed Rs. 150 Crores in the second week compared to Rs. 240 Crores , 3 Idiots grossed in the first 10 days.

This is not the first time that Shahrukh has emerged No. 2 in the race. In 2008 too Shahrukh's Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi was going well but when Aamir's Ghajini released the movie found tough to breathe. Ghajini had gone on to establish records at the Box Office which was incidentally broken by Aamir starer 3 Idiots. Now having lost two consecutive rounds to Aamir, Shahrukh will find it tough to keep his 'Baadshah of Bollywood' tag.

Shraddha Kapoor wants to work with Aamir Khan

Set to make her Bollywood debut this Friday with director Leena Yadav’s film Teen Patti, Shraddha Kapoor, daughter of actor Shakti Kapoor, already has her wishlist made.

On top of the wishlist is a film with none other than Aamir Khan, whose latest film 3 Idiots seems to have touched Shraddha deeply.

“I would love to work with Aamir. I have seen 3 idiots and he was superb in the film. He is a very good actor who through his films touches everyone's heart,” Shraddha is quoted as saying.

Papa Shakti Kapoor thinks Shradda is smart, pretty and has a good sense of humour as well. He’s very happy about Shraddha sharing the screen space with megastar Amitabh Bachchan in ‘Teen Patti’.

Shraddha has received her education in Boston and is trained in Odissi and Kathak dance forms. She is also quite good at singing.

Shah Rukh Khan & Aamir Khan on Katrina Kaif's wish list

While everyone and anyone wants to work with Katrina Kaif, it's the other way round with Kaif- she is keen on working with Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan.

Kaif has not only done a variety of roles and made a niche for herself in such a short span of her career but has also acted with most of the Bollywood hotties barring the two superstar Khan's - Shah Rukh and Aamir. At a recent press conference Kaif said, “I would love to work with Aamir and Shah Rukh.

Why only me? Any actress would love to work with them. They are extremely talented and experienced. I haven't had the opportunity to work with them because I haven't been offered any films with them as yet.”

Having done films like Namastey London, Apne, Partner, Welcome, Race, New York, Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani and De Dana Dan amongst others, Kaif is keen on doing a romantic comedy on the lines of the Hollywood flick When Harry Met Sally.

Speaking to Businessofcinema.com she said, "I would really love to do a film like When Harry met Sally." However Kaif is not sure who would make the best Harry she said, "It could be anyone. Anyone who fits the role."

As of now Kaif has two films to look forward to in 2010; Rajneeti and Tees Mar Khan.

Bips earlier had reservations about co-star Rana Daggubatti because she had never heard of him. When beau John Abraham recommended the project and the Telugu hero, Bipasha was on.

All sorted out Says Bipasha from Bangkok, "John knew the script. And once I told him I was doing it, he told me he was glad. I was offered Dum Maro Dum six months ago. But nothing could be finalised because I had a date problem." The date issue has now been sorted out. Says Bipasha, "We're ready to roll in March. It's an interesting part."

Knocked-out Kangna

According to an insider, "Kangna was approached for the part of the junkie flower-girl after Bips turned down the role. But she quoted Rs 1 crore as her fee." Says the source, "The Sippys were keen to sign Kangna as she really suited the role. Kangna thought she would wrangle a huge fee at that late stage."

But the Sippys were horrified, more so when Kangna told them Rs 1 crore was her market fee these days. Says the source, "Kangna had not bargained for the production controller of Knockout, Husain Bhai being on board DMD. He knew Kangna had received only Rs 50 lakhs for Knockout. So goodbye it was, to Kangs."

Comparing me to Aishwarya Rai was unfair: Sneha Ullal

For a girl who began her career as an Aishwarya Rai lookalike, the road to Bollywood has not been easy to Sneha Ullal, but the actress is back in the Hindi film industry and wants to start on a new note.

Sneha, who got a dream launch opposite Salman Khan in 'Lucky-No Time For Love' in 2005, could not make much of a impression apart from her uncanny resemblance to the former Miss World.

The actress believes that constant comparisons to Bollywood superstar Aishwarya Rai in the very beginning of her career worked against her.

I am not used to winning: Katrina Kaif

Bollywood’s very own Barbie girl Katrina Kaif is on a success trail, as she bags a nomination in the prestigious Filmfare Awards for her role in ‘New York’. At a press conference to announce the Filmfare awards this year, she says that Filmfare should introduce a new category of award for actors like Salman and her who have never ever got any award for acting.

As an actress, what is your take on awards?

Honestly I think every actor who is a part of Bollywood wants to win. As far as I am concerned, I would say that I am not used to winning awards for the Best Actress, though I have put in as many as six years in the film industry ever since I had made my debut with Kaizad Gustad’s ‘Boom’.

All that I would say is I am happy even when I am nominated for the award. I cannot complain, because I have won rewards at the box office with my films clicking in a big way consecutively in the last few years.

You have to your credit quiet a few hit numbers as an actress. To what extent do you think you deserve the credit for a hit number, like say ‘Kiss Me’ inthe film ‘Race’?

I do not like controversies though fortunately or unfortunately, controversy has become my middle name in the industry, whether I want it or not. I agree to dance to a number only after I listen to it and I am convinced that it is catchy, foot -tapping and easy to the ear. Hence the entire credit for making the song a hit ought to go not to me who just performs to the number, but to the lyricist and the composer.

Do you agree that you are hot and sexy?

Personally I do not think that I am hot and sexy. I try not to disappoint the audiences who come to watch me in my film. To click inBollywood , besides the fact that you have to have talent in an abundant measure, you should also have your own appeal. You should have something special. Every actress has her own plus point to woo the audiences.

What according to you is your plus point as an actress?

If Vidya Balan is known for her ethnic roles, I am known for my fun roles. Each of us has our own place in the sun as far as Bollywood is concerned and we are not at all competing with one another.

Who do you think deserves the award besides you this year?

Though I have been nominated for the Best Actress award by Filmfare this year, I do not say that I alone deserve the award. If you were to ask me who I would nominate for the Best Actress Award besides me, I’d say that Priyanka Chopra deserves it for her performance in ‘Kaminey’. I’d also pick on Vidya Balan for her performance in ‘Paa’.

What do you think is responsible for bagging an award for acting- Talent or luck?

Salman Khan has never won the Best Actor award though he has been acting for the last 21 years in Bollywood. It does not mean that he is a bad actor. It is just that he has not been lucky to have bagged the award. If he deserves the award, come what may he will get it. If I deserve it, I’d get the award for my performance in Kabir Khan’s ‘New York’. Even if I do not get it, I’d be happy because at least I was considered good enough as an actor to be nominated for the Filmfare award which is very prestigious.

One personal question… Now that Salman has declared what he feels for you, would you also express what you think of him?

Look here. Salman is very senior. I will continue to retain my stance that I am not comfortable talking about my personal life. Period.

Do you think you are lucky as an actress?

Though I do not think I am lucky as far as bagging awards are concerned, I feel that I am blessed, as an actress. Not only do I get good roles, but most of my films are also successful at the box office. What more could I have asked for?

What did you think of Zarine Khan who has made her debut with Veer?

I have just seen the second half of ‘Veer’. I enjoyed watching it. I should say that Zarine was supremely confident about herself inthe film, though I used to fumble initially when I used to face the camera in the early stage of my career.

Which are the actors with whom you’d love to work with, besides Salman Khan?

Any actress would love to work with superstars like Aamir Khan or for that matter Shah Rukh Khan. The trouble is that I have not been approached to work with them till date, though I would love to act with both of them.

What kind of films do you want to have in your kitty, as an actress?

I am keen on being a part of romantic comedies like say ‘When Harry Meets Sally’.

Besides awards, are you complacent as an actress with whatever you have achieved till date?

I will steal a quote of Mr. Amitabh Bachchan, who had gone on record that he always likes to be seated behind, since only then will he be able to have the goal to go in front.
