Salman Khan was signed by T-series for a film directed by Anees Bazmee for a whopping Rs 50crore. However, after a reality check (read recession), Bhushan Kumar, the head honcho of T-series, spoke to Salman and asked him to reduce his price. Salman got his price down to Rs 40 crore but when the producer insisted Salman cut his fee even further, he flatly refused. So the producers had no choice but to shelve the film until they find a replacement for the lead actor or Salman agrees to a much reduced fee. Incidentally, T-Series had also signed Anees Bazmee for Rs 12 crores, out of which six have already been paid.
