Well, there are certain stories and facts associated with certain locales in film land, which get tagged as of being haunted, or lucky or unlucky etc.
One such landmark places of bollywood is the famous, or rather the in famous ‘Mukesh Mills, situated in Colaba, Mumbai. It is a 158 year old mill, which had got doused and destroyed in massive fires twice. After which this area is totally cordoned off. After that, this has become a favorite place to have been used by many a film maker to shoot haunted or scary or even action oriented scenes.
One director, who has used this dilapidated structure for a beautiful song sequence is Vipul Shah, for his film ‘Action Replay’.
The site has been used to shoot a festival song, the festival of colors that is Holi, in a beautiful way. However, the song has the two ladies of the film Aishwarya Rai and Neha Dhupia dancing away to glory, minus the lead actor, Akhsay Kumar.
The song sequence has turned out to be a very attractive part of the film, according to sources, and it is being touted as one of the high lights of the film as well.
Now why would it be that a song would become so popular, only because it has been picturised in an old mill? Well, the answer is simple, according to the buzz going around, it is said that this song is the last of any film scene or song being picturised in this area. The owners have decided to go in for a major development program, and will convert the place into a Residential cum Commercial Complex.
Sad news for film makers, though this makes Ash and Neha join in a landmark shoot which took place at the site for the last time ever!
