I Want To Be Bigger Than Shah Rukh Khan!
If you guys want more then this lad has got the opportunity of doing something which even the biggest stars dream of till date; walking the ramp with the sizzling Bollywood beauty, Katrina Kaif at the Lakme Fashion week.
So acting it seems is the new mantra in his nerves. The young lad now feels that acting is his sole motive and he does not deny saying that he would certainly like to be an actor one day.
“I want to be an actor one day. I want to be big star, bigger than Shah Rukh Khan. First I want to finish my studies in software engineering and then will I go ahead with my acting career”, says the brilliant actor.
The show is all about the Rajasthani origin and its language, so how difficult was it for this star kid to adapt himself to the Rajasthani culture and environment?
“It was a bit difficult to adapt to the Rajasthani language as their words are a bit tacky like ‘thare’ and ‘mhare’ but frankly it was fun to learn this language. It was completely a new experience for me.
Jagya not only helps Anandi with her studies on-screen but off-screen too Avinash helps Avika Gor with her school lessons.
“Yes, I do help Avika in her studies and she too helps me whenever I get stuck in my work. She is very helpful and a very sweet girl”, says another sweet boy from the same block.
Coming to the point which all the kids love to talk about that is their favorite stars, cricketers, most mischievous trick they ever played and more. Avinash too is a big fan of the Bollywood celebrities. He too is a big fan of cricketers and loves to watch Hindi movies.
“I am a big time fan of Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif. I love watching their movies. Talking about sports, I love to play cricket and basketball. My favorite cricketer is Sachin Tendulkar. I love the way he plays. He is certainly a genuine all rounder,” shares Avinash.
Akshay Kumar attends the launch of Asian Heart Institute's cardiac air ambulance
The air-ambulance service, priced at Rs.85000, will also be available to patients from rural parts of the state and those seeking treatment at other hospitals. A 24 hour cardiac care helpline has also been launched.
For the time-being, the chopper would land only at Juhu airport and Mahalaxmi racecourse although authorities are requesting MMRDA to construct a helipad atop the Asian Heart Institute.

Is Ash a thief?
Aishwarya plays the role of Sonia Solandres, a criminology expert, in the film. She is part of the team of detectives who are trying to find the Pink Panther diamond. But in the end, Inspector Clouseau figures out that Sonia, played by Ash, is the real culprit and no criminology expert. “The climax has a fight scene where Ash even kicks some butt and tries to flee. But eventually, she gets caught and is put behind bars,” says the source.
'I haven’t lost faith in love'
“What can I say? It’s very sweet of people to keep linking me up with somebody or the other. I think they just hate to see me single,” he laughs. But has the past experience left a bitter taste? “Life throws googlies at you. You catch some, you miss some! But I haven’t lost faith in love. I would love to fall in love again.... but I would rather have people talk about my work.”
That shouldn’t be difficult considering his interesting line-up — Vishal Bharadwaj’s Kaminey that sees him play a double role for the first time, Ken Ghosh’s dance film, Yash Chopra’s untitled where he’s paired opposite Rani Mukerji, Ahmed Khan’s Paathshala in which he’s done a cameo, and finally his dad Pankaj Kapur’s directorial venture. “Working with dad’s been a dream, but now that it’s coming true, I am nervous about it,” he says.
Shahid’s looking fitter than ever before, though his shirt barely gives away the eight-packs hidden underneath. “I’ve always been keen to experiment with my looks as well as my characters on screen, but it’s only off late that I’ve finally got a chance to do so and I’m making the most of it,” says the actor. He is also unfazed when it comes to the new talent competition coming in every year and the over-40-six-pack-brigade that seems to have almost turned back time. “For me the only competition every actor has is from his own self and his last performance. As long as an actor’s improving he’s on his way up already. The seniors have set the bars so high that it’ll ensure that only the best and the most deserving make it to the top. So, more than pressure, it’s inspiring. And I’m really looking forward to this journey,” smiles Shahid.

Anil Kapoor helps out daughter
Shah Rukh Khan is the most saleable actor today
Shah Rukh Khan seems to have won the war of endorsements from his archrival Amitabh Bachchan. In fact Amitabh Bachchan has been relegated to oblivion when it comes to endorsements business.
What really set Amitabh apart from other ageing big stars is while most faded into oblivion or been reduced to doing father or uncle roles, Big B ruled the roost even beyond 65 years.
The small screen played an important role in giving him a new lease of life. After a rough patch in the 90s, he barged into Indian homes with one of the most popular quiz shows of Indian television 'Kaun Banega Crorepati' (KBC) and the famous BPL ad. Post-KBC there was no looking back for him.

Smith is the only actor to get a ten-on-ten score and is followed by four Hollywood stars - Johnny Depp, Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio and Angelina Jolie - sharing the second position. These are followed by Tom Hanks, George Clooney, Denzel Washington, Matt Damon and Jack Nicholson in the top 10.

But their split happened and the two refused to dub for the movie initially.
And now, the two have relented and agreed to dub for the movie.
It is believed that Boney’s request Shahid dubbed his portions few months back and Kareena has agreed to dub for it too.
Boney Kapoor can cash in on the duo’s fans who want to see their last movie together.
Shahid Kapoor mean while is still nursing the hurt of his break up.
“Don’t others go through break-ups? Why is mine getting so much attention?” retorts an agitated Shahid.Too much questioning about Kareena seems to bother the actor. He says he needs “personal space” to live life his way.
If not Kareena, try asking him on Sania Mirza. Ask him if it is true that he congratulated her on her Australian Open win. You get an almost similar response: “Isn’t that a normal thing? The whole world congratulated her. The way I’m being projected, it appears that I will never get a girl friend again,” the actor reacts with a bit of sarcasm.

Jai Veeru of 2009 Fardeen Khan & Kunal Khemu
Jai and Veeru is the story of two men who are from different sides of the law who have to come together to fight a common enemy, played by Arbaz Khan.
And using the hit name of Jai and Veeru from Sholay was a smart marketing move, declared the Veeru of the pair, Khemu. He explained, "The film is nothing like Sholay.
But we have used the names of Jai and Veeru primarily to cash in on the friendship angle. Since the two names are synonymous with friendship. The film maker decided to use it as the title of the film. There is an instant connect with the audience with a name like that."
Fardeen and Khemu's chemistry on screen is yet to be explored, but both are excellent actors in their given space.
Fardeen has been part of many hit films and his last release of No Entry was a big grosser. And as for Khemu his histrionics has been well used by film makers like Mahesh Bhatt in Zakhm and Madhur Bhandarkar in Traffic Signal. The two romance with Dia Mirza and Anjana Sukhani in the film. Jai and Veeru will hit theatres on 11 March.

Aa Dekhen Zara Music Review
One expects a repeat show here, b) Bipasha Basu's presence in the film promises at least a couple of catchy foot tapping dance numbers and c) Since Pritam and Gourav Dasgupta [of Dus Kahaniyaan fame] share credits for the film's soundtrack, it is bound to be a young contemporary outing.
MUSIC-Title song 'Aa Dekhen Zara', which has it's origin in Sanjay Dutt's Rocky and has been recreated for this film, is heard in two versions. While one of these is a dance version, another is a much slower lounger version. Both the versions are created by Gourav Dasgupta and while the former is a definitely catchy and makes you hit that dance floor again, it's the second version that catches your attention most.
An innovative affair, it makes you sit up and take notice of the composition due to its soothing arrangements that give the title song a different dimension altogether. In fact Gaurav deserves a pat on his back for thinking out of the box and making 'Aa Dekhen Zara' an entirely new experience.
Pritam enters into the scene with 'Gazab' which has a Western pace with an Indian base to it. Made for the masses, especially the gentry, the song (which also appears in the Club Mix version) seems to be quite ordinary in it's first couple of hearings but slowly starts becoming a lot more interesting after you have played it on for some time. It isn't great music by any means but peppy enough to mandate a good choreography around it.
Other than the title song of Aa Dekhen Zara, the number which impresses most in the album is the romantic track 'Mohabbat Aap Se'. Composed by Pritam, the number has an Indi-pop touch to it but still doesn't loose out on it's capability to impress well in the film's narrative. Though one looks forward to see that how does the song fit in with Bipasha's image, as a stand alone audio, it is one of the better numbers heard this year.
Gourav Dasgupta returns to the scene with 'Power' and 'Rock The Party'. Talking of 'Power', it appears to be a background piece which would find place in the film's narrative at numerous junctures. This number which also appears in a 'Club Mix' version is fast paced with a punch to it, but still not deadly enough to remain with a listener after it is through. Purely situational.
Last to come is 'Rock The Party' which appears to be a club number. It boasts of good Western arrangements to kick start the song that instantly reminds one of songs belonging to the genre that has been made popular by 'It's The Time To Disco'. A decent track that could also double up as the title song due to the words 'Aa Dekhe Zara' that appear in it.
LYRICS-Sheershak Anand takes the credit for writing 'Aa Dekhe Zara' in its newer version. However, most of the song stays on to be in its original format. Irshad Kamil is at his romantic best though for 'Mohabbat Aapse' which certainly would have gone a greater distance had it been made for a bona fide romantic film. However, Irshad just lets himself loose with 'Gazab' where as a listener you would hardly be catching on to the lyrics.
Syed Gulrez and Prashant write 'Power' which talks about the power of money. There isn't much that one takes home from this number, either musically or lyrically. Same holds good for 'Rock The Party' which is written by Avishek, Ravi and Sheershak Anand.
VOCALS-Neil makes a decent debut while rendering the title number 'Aa Dekhen Zara'. He has his vocals in control and gives a good account of himself as a playback singer as well. However, the singer who impresses most in the album is Dibyendu Mukherjee who is quite good in the lounge version of the same song.
One would want to hear a lot more of this singer who catches your attention with an altogether unique rendition of this number that has been played on for close to three decades now! Sunaina and Shweta Vijay are the co-singers with Neil and Dibyendu for the two versions respectively.Dibyendu Mukherjee also sings 'Power' and though he gets into the rock mode here, one would still want to revisit his much softer rendition of 'Aa Dekhen Zara'.
While Sunidhi Chauhan takes the lead in 'Gazab', it is Shaan who keeps the proceedings livelier and more engaging. He seems to be having a lot of fun in singing this (obvious) item number, something which is a departure from his patented mushy romantic songs. However, Sunidhi dominates the scene in 'Rock The Party' where she also has Shweta Vijay for company.
Aakriti, who has always impressed in every number being assigned to her, is quite good once again with 'Mohabbat Aapse'. She delivers goods once again in a quintessential romantic number. OVERALL Aa Dekhen Zara ends up giving a listener what he/she expected in the first place.
None of the songs in the album are a bad hear at all with a couple of them ('Aa Dekhen Zara' and 'Mohabbat Aap Se') turning out to be the pick of the lot. Moreover, if promoted aggressively, even 'Gazab' has good potential. A decent soundtrack.

Genelia to sizzle with Arya
According to reports, the untitled film will be directed by Manikandan, a former associate of cinematographer - director Jeeva.
It was Manikandan who completed 'Dhaam Dhoom' following his mentor's sudden death on the sets of the film at Russia.
Genelia and Preethi Rao, the younger sister of Amritha Rao will be the heroines. Thamizh will crank the camera and the film will be shot in Karaikudi, Ooty and London.
Arya has emerged the blue-eyed boy of the industry after 'Naan Kadavul' as he is being flooded with offers and his remuneration has rocketed sky high.
Sonam too hot to handle on Verve
She looked both hot and abstemious on the cover. Shot on the sunny beaches of Maldives, Sonam stole the heart of millions. Slowly she is becoming the hot favorite of the endorsers too; she is the fresh face of L'Oreal. She took the position by beating Aishwarya, who was L’Oreal face for years long.
After Saawariya, she will be next seen in Delhi 6 opposite Abhishek Bachchan. The film is yet to hit the theatre but she had already created ripples with her lively role on the promo which is being aired on TV.
Akshay Kumar and Mohanlal in Priyan's film on AIDS awareness
While much is already known about his films such as De Dana Dan (Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty, Paresh Rawal) and Bum Bum Bole (Darsheel Safary.
There is yet another project that the filmmaker would start working on soon. The USP of this project is that it brings together Superstar of Hindi cinema Akshay Kumar and Superstar of Malayalam cinema Mohanlal for the first time ever.
Bollywood Hungama spoke to Priyan who confirmed the same. "Yes apart from De Dana Dan which is 50 % complete, I am working on one more film with Akshay Kumar.
The (untitled) project would star Akshay along with Mohanlal and six other actors. The film is a one and a half hour film on AIDS awareness. It is an original concept and not a remake of any of my South Indian films"
The buzz is that Akshay has waived off his fees to be part of this socially relevant film. "Yes the film's budget is just Rs.1 crore...so yes he has been kind enough", smiles the director. The film, which goes on floors in April this year, is produced by Percept Picture Company. Interestingly Priyan has a 3 film deal with Percept which also includes the horror flick Grrr...Must say Priyan is one director who believes in working non-stop without a break!
Hansika's Plunging Neckline
A typical item number is not just a song with catchy and lewd lyrics but is also a visual treat for desperate eyes, and so keeping with this demand Hansika has decided to let her neckline do the talking by letting it fall further in one of her item songs.
Insiders insist that the plunging neckline will have the youth craving for more, of the heroine in time to come!!

'Barbers' miffed with film title Billu Barber
It is to be noted that for promoting the film, SRK has recently tied up with over 500 'barber' shops across Mumbai and has sent them vinyls of the film, and cassettes and CDs of the film to be displayed and played at their shops.
SRK's film has joined the league of controversial films like Chandni Chowk to China and Ghajini that were under fire for hurting religious sentiments and copyright issue respectively.
Now the association wants a special screening to be held for them and according to reports SRK for the screening on February 12.
"But I want it to be held on February 9, so that if there's anything objectionable in the film, we can get it changed. If they don't, the association members will take to the streets to protest against the film. There are 27000 association members in Mumbai and 3.5 lakh in Maharashtra." Uday Takke, The President of the association told Mumbai Mirror.
Karan Johar busy with My Name is Khan
Apparently, some of the Muslim cast had Visa problems. “Yes, there were problems which were sorted out. We had certain legal issues, but made changes to accommodate the developments. I believe in following the law of every land. That’s what we did in LA when troubles arose,” says Karan.
According to Karan Johar, directing My Name is Khan has been an incredible and unique experience.
“In all my 11 years as a filmmaker I’ve never felt the experience to be so different. The content of My Name is Khan is diametrically opposite to whatever I’ve done in the past. On the very first day of shooting my cameraman Ravi Chandran looked at me and said, ‘I don’t think you’ve ever shot something like this.’ This is the first time I’m directing a screenplay that I haven’t written myself. It gives me a level of detachment from the proceedings and yet a lot of attachment. It has released a whole plethora of unexplored emotions in my head. This time, I’m being creative in a different way. And Shah Rukh Khan plays a completely different human being, I’ve never directed that person before,” reveals Karan Johar.
The movie will also see the return of the dream pair of Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol.
According to Karan, “When I direct a scene with Shah Rukh and Kajol, I know I’m doing my best work. I am blessed to have them in my film. I don’t know what it’s about them. It’s just magic. They build an inexplicable energy on screen. They instinctively understand each other’s acting. These two characters in My Name is Khan had to be SRK and Kajol.”
So can Karan Johar-Shah Rukh Khan- Kajol recreate the magic of a Kabhie Khushi Kabhi Gham . We will have to wait and watch.
I guess, guys are envious of my kisses: Emraan Hashmi
Tell me a ghost whispered in your ear that Raaz —The Mystery Continues would work?
(Laughs) Sorry, shooting for 55 nights in way-out, supposedly haunted locations may have robbed me of my sleep, but I can’t claim to have had any out-of-the-body experience. I had confidence in the film though and the arrogance to say it would work as well as the original Raaz, even before its release.
But it has taken the industry a while to pass the verdict that Raaz 2 is the year’s first hit?
The industry wakes up last. (Shrugs) That’s okay as long as it wakes up one day. It was the same with Jannat last year. There were a lot of sceptics out there running down the film. We kept quiet till we could slap them with the figures. Up north, despite the chill, there are queues outside the ticket windows even for the 9 am shows. That’s the sign of a successful film.
It was a risk coming up against Slumdog Millionaire which arrived on a wave of Oscar-generated hype?
We were supposed to release two months earlier but the special effects took a while. We didn’t want to compromise on them and make a clichéd romantic supernatural thriller.
Once we were ready, we decided on January 23 as the release day and refused to be scared away by any competition, even Slumdog Millionaire. It may have got the media attention but we were the ones to bring in the revenue. In India, we’ve done double the business of Slumdog Millionaire in the first week itself.
But horror, as a genre, is still to get its due recognition in our country?
Yeah, it’s unfortunate that despite the high success ratio, such films are still associated with B-grade cinema. That was why it was so heartening when Raaz 2 took a good opening and remained steady through the week. That’s rare today.
It was a gamble doing a sequel without the original cast.
Raaz was a successful brand name but the sequel arrived only six years later. We didn’t want any connection with the original story or cast and risk keeping away those who hadn’t seen the original. Even those who had would have forgotten it by now. We were targetting a newer, larger audience with this film.
But Raaz 3 will have Emraan Hashmi?
Yeah, I’m the only actor who’s been signed for Part 3. Mohit (director Mohit Suri) and I go back a long way. And if he’s going to make another horror film, I have to be a part of it. Raaz 2 only skimmed the surface of horror .. with Raaz 3 we’ll up the fear level.
But that’s the only horror film I’ve accepted and since the script is still to be written, it’ll come only after three-four other films. Early on I repeated myself and paid the price. I won’t make the mistake again.
You’re obviously referring to your ‘serial kisser’ tag. It must rankle even though Randeep Hooda says it’s every man’s fantasy.
(Smiles) Really? According to one magazine poll I am the most hated man. I guess, guys are envious of my kisses. To answer your question, no, it doesn’t rankle. Most actors, in every generation, has been typed by a section of the media. And as Randeep says, I’ve benefitted from the image. But now I want to go beyond it. I want to experiment with other genres.
It’s taken me 10 films to get typed.. it will take me another 10 to break out of the stereotype. I’m being very selective.
You’re being super selective. Raftaar and Tum Mile are the only two films you have on hand.
I like it that way. We just wrapped up one schedule of Tum Mile in Cape Town. Raftaar was to have been completed by last December but it has been pushed ahead because a schedule had to be cancelled.
Buzz is you’re upset with Percept for wasting your dates and diverting funds to the Akshay Kumar starrer, 8 x 10.
Well, dates went waste but we were waiting for the right songs and didn’t want to compromise since they will be used to promote the film. Raftaar should be out by mid-year.
It has great content. It’s about the media.. news channels and their preoccupation with TRPs. Both Tum Mile and Raftaar have lived up to the expectations raised by the script.
Isn’t the title Tum Mile rooted in MM Kreem’s Criminal charttopper, Tum mile dil khile?
It’s not and Tum Mile is just a tentative working title. It could change.. it could stay. It fits the story, the characters and their relationship. It’s my first real love story. And the love story unfolds against the backdrop of the Mumbai floods.
So why was it shot in South Africa?
We wanted an international look. Also, the two characters meet there before coming down to Mumbai where the relationship progresses. The next schedule will be on a set with a city block, rain machines and SFX. It will be gruelling wading through water for 15 days.
Your hit films have been restricted to the Bhatt camp. Is that why you are wary of venturing out?
I’m open to outside offers but not run-of-the-mill movies. And till they come along, why should I move out of Vishesh Films? We’re a great team.. we make hit movies.
Navdeep Singh was keen on you for his next film but the creative director, Nikhil Advani, apparently told him it was beneath his dignity to approach the serial kisser.
How can it be below his dignity to approach me when I have given a hit and his film, Chandni Chowk To China, has flopped? It’s below my dignity to work with him. I think Nikhil Advani lost his dignity when he made his last two films.
And Akshaye Khanna who said if Emraan Hashmi was getting Rs 5 crore, he should get more?
No actor has the right to call out my price. I charge depending on my pull at the box office. I don’t overcharge nor do I under-price myself.
Think Raaz 2 will get you into the A-list?
That’s the God given right of Bollywood’s blue blood. I’ve always been the outsider and even Vishesh Films has never walked the straight and narrow path. The media attention may be on select actors but I have the mass following. And one day, they’ll have to let me in.
Genelia considers Imran a dear friend
Since Imran is going steady with his girlfriend of many years Avantika, no one really linked up the young stars romantically.
However the recent buzz is that the two friends have fallen apart after a misunderstanding.
But she clarified, “Imran is a dear friend, there is no misunderstanding between us and we are very good friends. Everything is absolutely fine. These are just rumours.”
The young actress who shone down South is presently juggling both Bollywood and the South.
She’s said, “I love both the industries as both are close to my heart. I started my career with Telugu films and I got recognition in Bollywood. But the success of ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’ has done wonders to my career.”
Genial has ‘Hook Ya Crook’ with John Abraham and ‘It’s my Life’ with Harman Baweja, the Hindi remake of her own Telugu hit ‘Bommarillu’ to look forward to as well as a Abbas Mastan thriller.
‘Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na’ and her hero Imran is mighty lucky for her. No wonder she cherishes this friendship.
Genelia caught with Imran Khan in an upside-down affair!
But bubbly and bewitchingly beautiful Genelia insists all is well between the winning onscreen couple. They are still buddies!
"Imran is a dear friend, there is no misunderstanding between us and we are very good friends. Everything is absolutely fine. These are just rumours," Genelia clarified while talking to a news daily.
Since her Bollywood debut, her visibility has increased and the South-Indian actor’s hands are full of enviable roles, not to forget the remarkable increase in number of the starry-eyed guys who moon over those guileless eyes and charming smile.
Juggling both industries together with dexterity, the young heartthrob says, "I love both the industries as both are close to my heart. I started my career with Telugu films and I got recognition in Bollywood. But the success of ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’ has done wonders to my career."
Lined up in her kitty, Genelia has ‘Hook Ya Crook’ opposite hot-hunk John Abraham, ‘It`s my Life’ with Hurman Baweja (a Hindi remake of her own Telugu hit ‘Bommarillu’) and an Abbas Mastan thriller.
Perhaps Imran appeared as her good-luck-charm from Bollywood, so affection won’t die out so soon. Correct, Genelia?

Akshay Kumar on the cover of 'Complete Wellbeing' magazine
The 'Complete Wellbeing' magazine has yet again managed to showcase a major celebrity in a different light. The February issue of 'Complete Wellbeing', is a 'Life Energy' special issue and hence it comes as no surprise that the issue features none other than Akshay Kumar- one of the most energetic, fit and successful actors of the Hindi film industry
In an exclusive interview, Akki speaks about how instead of slowing down with age, he has only picked up speed and gotten better. He also reveals the mature and grounded side of him, which is in stark contrast with his bubbly and energetic side. "Life is super-hectic-you barely have time to take a deep breath, and the stress never seems to go away. To cope with this, you need to be physically fit and be able to find your inner balance," says Akshay.
Speaking on the choice of Akshay Kumar for their 'Life Energy' special issue, Manoj Khatri, Editor and Publisher of 'Complete Wellbeing' says, "Usually people associate energy with a healthy body. But, like in Akshay's case, a healthy mind too plays a very important role in making a person energetic. You cannot be energetic and give your best even though you are physically fit if you are feeling low,"
Besides featuring Akshay Kumar in a no-holds barred interview, the February issue also has over 12 articles based on energy that all cover areas of an individual's life. It also has fitness tips from Hollywood trainer Mike Ryan, power dressing tips, 10 Top Energy Foods and much more.
Salman Khan Comes to Kareena's Rescue
While shooting for a film in Panchgani, Kareena Kapoor was in dire straits as she had to reach Thailand to shoot a song for Sohail Khan's Main Aur Mrs Khanna. Her hectic schedule, however, rendered it impossible for her to reach airport in time.
When Salman Khan heard about the problem, he immediately came to her rescue. The Bollywood hunk hired a chartered plan for her to fly to Thailand at her own convenience.
Salman refuses to cut his price
So the producers had no choice but to shelve the film until they find a replacement for the lead actor or Salman agrees to a much reduced fee. Incidentally, T-Series had also signed Anees Bazmee for Rs 12 crores, out of which six have already been paid.
Amrita Rao's hot crush
Ever since Amrita saw ‘shirtless’ pictures of Mr. O with his six-packs and all, she’s gone utterly nuts; and has been raving about him ever since. Amrita told us in an interview to ZOOM, “Obama looks nothing short of a Hollywood star man. What six-packs, what a body ...!”
Hmmnn! You’re absolutely right gal, with that well-toned, chiselled body; he’s indeed the ‘Ab-ama’ of the new world. And ‘fit’ to be Mr President of a superpower too. On her next trip to the US of A, maybe Amrita should drop by at Precinct 1600, Pennsylvania Ave, DC? Even better, here’s an idea... gift the Obamas an original Husain painting. Who knows... if the lovely First Lady likes it... Amrita could be ‘framed’ in the White House forever. Wishful thinking, huh? No probs. As long as it gets her closer to the Big ‘O’. Wotsay?
I am still waiting for my fantasy man: Raima Sen
"I am still waiting for my fantasy man," says the actress who was in the capital recently to promote the film, which releases today.
First-time director Madhureeta Anand has cast Raima as Maya, a homemaker who dreams of being a singer but is regularly demoralised by her husband played by Arbaaz Khan.
Circumstances however, lead her to fantasise about an ideal man, who would boost her morale and help in realising her ambition.
"It is not only housewives who sacrifice their dreams at the altar of family life but anybody who has a dream will be able to identify with Maya," Raima told reporters here.
The actress who was noticed for her role in Bollywood with "Honeymoon Travels" feels that her sister Riya Sen who is still struggling to get a foothold in the industry, just did not get the right opportunities.
"Riya did not get the right opportunity. We both are acting together in Rituparno Ghosh's next where her acting calibre has definitely been explored. Rituda is even planning his next two films with her," she quips. PTI
Aamir, politics, romance… King Khan tackles all at press conference
“I don't pick on Aamir. You guys (the media) make a big thing out of it. It's a joke, so we carry on with it. It's no big deal,” he said Shah Rukh.
Dressed in a crisp white shirt and a chic black suit with neatly cropped hair, the 43-year-old actor spread cheer among the 200-plus crowd, including many kids, at the Emporio Mall in New Delhi he came as a brand ambassador for Swiss watch brand Tag Heuer.
King Khan, as he is fondly called, cleared all rumours about the 'cold war' between the two Khans of the Hindi film industry, but said he would have a talk with the “Ghajini” star.
“Sometimes he (Aamir) says something or somebody else says something that I don't like and I am very serious about it. So I'll personally talk to him about it,” said Shah Rukh.
Apart from their movies, the two superstars have been hogging the limelight for their public remarks on each other.
Aamir, who was in the capital recently to promote his psychological thriller “Ghajini”, had cleared the air about the war of words by saying that he could never fight with Shah Rukh.
"Do you think I could dare to fight with Shah Rukh. He is a good friend and so I can't fight with him. I respect him a lot," Aamir had said.
But it didn't end at this. Shah Rukh sparked a controversy by proclaiming himself as the biggest brand and saying there cannot be any competition with him.
Taking a dig at the remark, Aamir said: "I don't believe in competition with others. I only compete with myself."
Aamir, whose forthcoming project is titled “Three Idiots”, also said that title should be rightfully given to the three Khans of Bollywood - including himself, Shah Rukh and Salman.
“My forthcoming film... is Rajkumar Hirani's 'Three Idiots' and I play the character of an idiot with R. Madhavan and Sharman Joshi. But I think Shah Rukh, Salman and I are truly the three idiots of Bollywood,” he said.
At the Tag Heuer press conference, Shah Rukh also ruled out the option of joining politics ...at least until he turns 127 years old.
"I might join politics at the age of 127 - when probably you guys are old and I am still young," he said.
Shah Rukh, who is nursing a shoulder injury, was at his jocular best when he took digs at journalists and gave witty answers.
Asked about his shoulder problem, Shah Rukh told a reporter: "I just can't hug you hard enough."
"I will be well. I'm going for surgery in the next few days. I was just hoping to delay it because of a few close commitments like this event and also for promoting my film 'Billu Barber'. As soon as that is released, I will enroll myself into a hospital and get my injury repaired."
Shah Rukh said he is upset about his injury as he cannot move as much as he would otherwise like to. He is also sad that he cannot exert his body much and, therefore, has to refrain from his daily dose of exercise too.
"I am feeling a little sad because for the next six months I won't be able to play football or do any exercise. I used to lift weights but with this injury I can't do anything of that sort," he said.
Despite the injury, Shah Rukh did not let his pain show through. He made a top official of the watch brand sing "Mar jaani, mar jaani" - a peppy Hindi number from "Billu Barber".
Returning compliments, flattering girls, accepting flowers, signing autographs and praising his wife Gauri Khan, Shah Rukh Khan was also at his romantic best at the press conference.
“I have gifted my entire life to Gauri,” Shah Rukh told reporters when asked whether his forthcoming film “Billu Barber”, releasing on Feb 13, was a Valentine's Day gift for his wife.
“She produces all my movies and only if the film does well, she accepts any gifts. If my movie flops, then she does not accept any gift. I feel 'Billu Barber' is a beautiful film about relationships, love and friendship. I also have a good part in the film along with Irrfan Khan and Lara Dutta. If the film works well, my wife will accept a gift otherwise she will throw me out of the house,” he quipped.
The actor said he has not made any Valentine's Day plans yet due to his medical condition.
“I want to get done with this surgery so I don't think it is a good time to plan for Valentine's Day. Right now, I am very much concerned about my arm,” he maintained.
The crowd went berserk from the moment he entered the lobby of the swish Emporio Mall.
A young die-hard fan of the actor couldn't shy away from shouting “Shah Rukh, we love you” in the middle of the press conference and the actor was quick enough to respond.
He said: “I love you too sweetie. Let's get married soon after this. Whenever I come to Delhi, I keep getting married - it's a thing with me. I like Delhi girls a lot but girl, my daughter would be as old you after a few years.”
To another young journalist, who intended to ask Shah Rukh's opinion on Shilpa Shetty's entry into the Indian Premier League (IPL) that was announced on Monday, the superstar quipped that she resembled Shilpa's younger sister Shamita and that he would love to do a “Baazigar 2” with her.
Shah Rukh obliged nearly every young child present there by shaking hands with them besides signing autographs and also accepting little tokens of love like roses and pens from them.
I have no cash for top players: Shah Rukh Khan
However, SRK is always an optimist. “I hope Kolkata be the winner this time,” he said. “I also wish the Delhi team well,” he graciously added on Wednesday’s visit to the Capital to launch Tag Heuer’s Carrera Calibre 16.
That’s not cricket! Later in the evening, SRK had a meeting with teammates John Buchanan and Sourav Ganguly. “We have a good set-up,” he said. “We have Ricky Ponting, Chris Gayle, Ishant Sharma. It should be a good season — as long as all these guys play.” The absence of Akhtar and Butt will be keenly felt, though, especially as the embargo is a big financial burden. “I don’t know which board took this decision. They may have thought ‘Thodasa... achha nahi lagega’. But unfortunately, they [the IPL board] won’t allow the money meant for the Pakistani players to be utilised in buying new players. This is a little unfair.”
It has made things difficult. “We don’t have much money left,” he said. “We couldn’t bid for expensive players like Kevin Pietersen. Their starting salaries are, like, 1.3 million dollars. We’ve already spent that.” His cheerleader talent hunt will, however, be big, SRK tells us. It will show people that “it’s not just about dancing with pom-poms” and that the girls totally “deserve respect” for their hard work.

Salman & I have plans on V-day: Katrina
So now you’re topping media popularity polls even — at par with Tendulkar and Co.?
Yes! A news channel has nominated me ‘Indian of The Year’ on the same platform as Sachin Tendulkar and some other big names. It’s a nice feeling. Great to know you’re there on the popularity charts, especially when it is the media and the public voting for you. In an industry based on relationships — where the best of friendships can go wrong, one can’t be popular and liked by all. So, this is even more special!
Deepika had said that you’re ‘her senior’. An ‘ouch’ remark?
Look, when you get neck deep into work there’s no room for rivalry. There’s place for all because there’s so much quality work all around. I like to give 100 per cent to my work. But I’m an emotional person, so all this unhealthy, idle gossip affects my health. Luckily the diversity of cinema today ensures that everyone has different kinds of movies. I’m doing movies with actors like Ranbir, John and, of course, my one annual biggie with Akshay. So there’s a sense of balance. As far as Deepika is concerned, if we waste time on ‘what she said’ or ‘what he said’, then we’ll only stay caught up in that web. Problem is, that most actresses cannot be perceived as friends. I do give Deepika the benefit of doubt. I’m sure it was a well-meaning statement!
Vibes between you and Asin don’t seem to be warm either. Going by reports that you landed up in Chandigarh (where she was filming with Salman) just to give her the ‘cold Katz’ treatment?
Oh my God! That was such a funny story. Asin is lovely and I’m happy Salman is working with her. But to clear the record, I went to Chandigarh on a personal visit and did not even go on Asin’s sets. This was all hot-controversy with no fire. Leave alone cold vibes.
Another bane of top actresses is a glut of clones ‘n’ comparisons. Now there are several Katrina ‘lookalikes’...
I take it as a compliment when people start using you as the benchmark to rate others. Then people say ‘Oh, this one looks like you, Oh that one looks like you’. I think it’s unfair to any girl to be compared to someone who’s already there. It puts the heavier burden, of them having to live up to expectations better suited to somebody else. Though, frankly, I don’t think that any of the girls compared to me are remotely similar to me.
There seems to be a catfight on between you and Priyanka. Some issue over top billing at an awards performance?
This is all baseless imagination of some gossip-mongers. My track for the event was decided a long time ago and everything was already cast in stone. I’ve known the show organisers, the Moranis, for sometime now; and they’re some of the most straightforward people in this business. So sorry guys, no catfight between Priyanka and me!
Rumour has it that your relationship with Salman is headed for permanency. He’s supposedly buying you a home on Valentine’s Day?
I must say that, according to media, Salman seems to be in some generous mood. He’s supposed to be buying me a place; supposedly buying Asin a place... It’s hilarious. Though the truth is, I don’t think that he’s buying any house — for her or me.
What’s your Valentine’s Day plan? Any special event with Salman?
Yes! Salman and I have plans on V-day. Unfortunately, not together. I’m shooting a song in Turkey with Rajkumar Santoshi; while Salman is shooting for Veer in northern India. Unless he plans to surprise me, of course!
Shah Rukh Khan wins war of endorsements from Big B
Till jut recently there was a talk of dominance when it came to question of endorsing brands by Bollywood bigwigs. Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan used to be in neck and neck fight in the endorsement biz.
Sushmita's directorial debut shelved
A source from the industry informs that everything for the film including the script, locations, horses and budget had been finalised before Sushmita came to know that a television channel has picked up the idea and has already started working on it.
"The investors obviously weren’t too happy about this as the serial would be on air before the film’s release. They then backtracked and the project is now shelved. The hired staff has been asked to leave too," added the source.
Sushmita is compelled to put the project on hold till new investors come into picture.
Hansika scores a hat trick
Is the svelte actress being unnecessarily superstitious? "I may sound superstitious but I lost some films when I revealed about them before hand," says the hottie, who resolved to hold the cards close to her chest.
However, the actress believes in giving her best shot, so prefers to work in one film at a time. "In each film, I want to be different from head to toe," she smiles. Variety is the spice for the sexy starlet.

Salman’s the wind beneath Kareena’s wings
The actress, who was in Panchgani, would have failed to reach Karabi in Thailand where she had to shoot a song for Sohail Khan’s MAIN AUR MRS. KHANNA. Enter generous Salman. He organized a chartered flight for Bebo.
The actress, stressed with hectic schedules, could catch a much needed shut-eye on the flight and when she reached her location was able to shoot the whole night and complete the song. Incidentally, Bebo and Sallu play a couple in the film… and she has an extramarital affair with Sohail.
Amir Khan-Marco Antonio Barrera could be but back, says Frank Warren
The bout, that has already sold 15,000 tickets, could be moved back a fortnight if the Mexican cannot recover in time for what could prove to be a defining fight for Khan.
The cut required two stitches, and with less than six weeks to go before the proposed fight at the Manchester Evening News Arena, doubts surfaced whether Barrera can recover in time to face the Briton.
Warren told the Manchester Evening News that Barrera has flown to Florida with King to have a thorough medical examination: "At the moment, Barrera has had a couple of stitches and we will find out more today," said Warren.
"I am an optimist, not a pessimist. I want the show to go on, although I know there are people out there who want it off. Marco is flying to Florida with Don King and they will go to see a doctor and hopefully everything will be OK. There won't be any replacement. Once I know what's happening I will make a decision, but at the moment everything is as it was."
Warren is expected to make a statement on Monday evening.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan postpones French honour due to dad’s illness
The French Government has conferred prestigious ‘Officer Dan Ordre Des Arts Et Des Lettres’ honour on her. But Ash has declared that she will not be able to receive the award just yet. The second highest civilian award of France is a big thing, but the move is no snub.
Ash had said to France, “Thank-you, but not now!”
She explained, “I wanted my entire family — and that includes my parents, brother, sister-in-law, my husband and his parents, sister and brother-in-law — to be there. My father has been unwell and I wanted him to be there at this important moment.”
Having given her reason, she added, “It will be a glorious moment. But not without my father!”
Incidentally, this honour has been conferred earlier on Hollywood actors Meryl Streep and Robert Redford, and Shah Rukh Khan from India. There’s only one higher French civilan honour, the Legion d’honour, which her father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan, filmmaker Satyajit Ray and sitar maestro Pandit Ravi Shankar have received.
Katrina Kaif goes deglam
critically acclaimed filmmaker Prakash Jha’s Rajniti.
And, the change of image is not restricted to her wardrobe alone. Katrina will also be required to speak in a certain dialect, for which she is undergoing voice modulation classes.
Katrina says, “My role in Rajniti has different shades – I start off in a particular way and end up as a completely changed character. The character is immensely challenging and it is a huge responsibility to carry it off.
I am very excited to work with Prakash Jha, who is known for his particular brand of cinema and believes in involving himself in every department of his films. I’ll soon be leaving for Bhopal to shoot for the film, where I have scenes with a crowd of around 500 people and I am gearing up for it.”

´Billu Barber´ To Be Shah Rukh Khan´s First Official Release In Pakistan
However, with a somewhat normal relationships between India and Pakistan, King Khan's home banner venture, 'Billu Barber', is all set to release in cinemas across the neighouring country on February 13.
As is known, 'Billu Barber' has been directed by ace filmmaker Priyadarshan, and features Irrfan Khan essaying the main protagonist in the title role. SRK on his part is there in an extended special appearance.
Police disrupts Preity Zinta's b'day party
The Bollywood actress invited controversy for late night party and loud music, which annoyed her neighbours and called police to stop the party.
It is possibly the first time when such a complaint has been filed against the dimpled damsel as she is believed to be a strict follower of law and order by the industry people.
It was late last night when people residing in nearby slums reported about the loud music to the police, sources said. According to the complainant, 'The music was too loud for us to bear so we called the police. Since it involved a renowned name like Preity Zinta, the police did not react at our first call.'
It is worth mentioning here that the high watt music was slowed down when the police arrived, but it didn't last for long. According to the sources, 'As soon as the police left, the music was as loud as it was before.'
Bollywood celebs like Shah Rukh Khan, Chunky Pandey were present in the party, sources said.
However, police says that appropriate penalty would be charged from the actress.
Deepika Padukone beats ‘sexiest’ Katrina in popularity rating
Review: Victory
Vijay gives himself one last chance; and with nothing to lose, directly confronts Team India’s chief coach (Dalip Tahil), who, impressed with his work, incorporates him into the Ranji team immediately. From there on, before he knows it, Vijay is playing for the Indian team alongside his idols, winning fame and money a bit too soon.
He is egged on by his manager Andy Singh (Gulshan Grover) to concentrate on making money through endorsements etc. Vijay, who once said that the cricket field was his temple, misses practice, parties hard and steadily loses his grip on the game.
Still confident of his image among people, he swallows more than he can chew and lands up in big trouble. The country that elevated him to the status of a demigod is enraged and torches his house in Jaisalmer landing his father in the hospital.
Girlfriend Nandu (Amrita Rao in yet another self-sacrificing, simpering role with zero personal ambition or agenda, dividing her time between the temple and the hospital) nurses his father back to normalcy and tries to initiate a truce between the two.
For a while, you do feel for the protagonist who despite talent, is frustrated at the lack of opportunity. Again, you empathise with the young man who gets swayed by sudden success, despite himself.
But somewhere down the road, the story gets too predictable for the interest to hold. It’s not that the small town boy making it big tale is implausible; we have many such real-life stories in sport stars like Yuvvraj Singh and Mahendra Singh Dhoni. It's just that we’ve seen several redemption stories on film and need a new perspective to make it watchable again (Fashion, for example, put a fresh spin on the back-on one’s-feet tale).
The film is technically good. Cinematography by Vikas Shivraman (Dhoom: 2) is excellent and songs by Anu Malik are average.
Harman Baweja is a fair actor, perfectly capable of holding the film on his own; it's just so the competition in the leading man category at the moment is fierce.
Fantastic faces and bodies are coming in with equally impressive talent and screen presence. In this arena, only the best can survive, and it's too early to figure out if Baweja falls in that category.
Debut director Ajitpal Mangat seems to have incorporated all elements of what is commonly perceived to be agreeable to the audience's taste: an underdog finally making it, the emotional melodrama, and the ending moment of triumph.
Yes, the film does throw up some immersing moments, but it's nothing we haven’t seen already.
