Bipasha Basu: The nine ladies in Pankh!

Well, what with the world of Hindi cinema going round about and getting the trend of multiple roles, back into trend? The fact is that, it was during the sixties, seventies and even eighties, when a particular star was cast in multiple roles in a single film.
However, there is a slight twist, as in those days, these roles were mostly enacted by male actors. For example, in the film ‘Naya Din Nayi Raat’, had veteran actor, late Sanjeev Kumar in 9 different looks and avatars. This film, which released in the seventies, was a hit.

But, times are a changing! These days, it is the female protagonist that gets to play these multiple roles. As a few months back, it was Priyanka Chopra, who played the role of seven different characters in the film’ what’s Your Rashee’? Which however was not that a big success.

Now, the latest star to play multiple roles in a single film is, Bipasha Basu. In the film ‘Pankh’, where Maradona, plays the male lead, dreams of the many different girls. As the mood of the star changes, the girl is depicted in that form. This is to say, if he is in a soft light mood, then Bipasha is given a soft and sensous look. If he has a foul or angry mood then a very harsh look has been given to the actress.

Now, what can we say? It’s a women’s world? This film has surely aroused our curiosity, and we can’t help but wait for the film to release, as our Bips, will have all kinds of moods to depict! Very Confused? So are we!
