Aishwarya Rai Bachchan: ‘Holi’ In The Dry Spella

What with the entire globe concerned with Global warming and the ultimate crisis of water that it will eventually lead to making all and sundry feeling high and dry! Reality has hit hard at all humans and bollywood stars and film folks are not spared with the fear either. Recently, it has been reported that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was supposed to be shooting for a song sequence on a holi day celebration for the film ‘Action Replay”.

According to sources, there were to be 500 extras and 150 dancers to accompany the actress for the song. There were supposed to be gallons of water to be used as it was supposed to be a holi based song which is a festival of colors where the modern version of celebrating it with water based colors was to be shot.

However, the director Vipul Shah seemed to realize the amount of water that would be wasted due to the song sequence. Especially, after the water crisis that Mumbai has gone through in the last decade or so it was very difficult for the director to go through with the original idea of having so much water going down the drain.

So, another very convenient and dry form of the song sequence has been scripted wherein the whole scene shall be enacted with dry colors. The original form of this festival had in deed begun with dry colors, wherein bright colors like fuchsia, yellow, green etc colors were used for the festivities. Thus, if each one who wishes to celebrate the festival pays heed to this form and makes it a festival of just dry colors then perhaps it would make it a celebration of joy and happiness along with saving of water.
